Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to be “in shape” to come to Bootcamp Classes?

Absolutely NOT! We understand that the term “boot camp” can be intimidating. That conjures up visions of the fittest people doing burpees and uphill sprints. But here at Struck Fitness, we do things differently. We offer instruction for our Beginners, a fun supportive environment for people of all fitness levels.  You will get stronger, faster than you can imagine. Check out our Beginner Bootcamp program HERE

Are your classes hard?

We like to refer to them as CHALLENGING! But so worth it. If it doesn’t challenge you it will not change you. Progress comes through struggle. It may be hard- but we promise we will show you a way through every single workout. And we promise we will be with you every step of the way.

Why do I need to bring clean sneakers?

We have special mats that offer you comfort and keep your joints safe and pain-free. We ask for clean sneakers to keep those mats clean so that you can drop and plank with confidence. It’s basically a courtesy we provide each other, keeping the mats clean.

If you are purchasing sneakers, especially for Struck Fitness we recommend you get "cross-trainers." Running shoes are not recommended for our type of training but will do in a pinch. Whatever you do, choose a sneaker that laces up and will stay and provide stability and flexibility. Ask us if you are going shopping, we'd love to recommend a brand.

Can I bring a friend?

You bet! Hop on over to this WEBPAGE to sign them up for our 2 Class Pass. If they’ve already tried out that class pass and are interested in coming more often, have them reach out to a team member to discuss which membership is the best fit for them.

What is the best way to get in touch with us?

The best way is either through email at contactus@struckfitness.com or text us at 973-834-7316.

We have regular office hours from 10:30-12:30 and 3:00-5:00 every weekday. That's when you can reach out about your class schedule, billing questions, or making an appointment for a nutrition consult or an In-Body Scan (body composition.)

If you are trying to reach us outside of Office Hours, we will get back to you as soon as possible, by the end of the next business hours.

We will always do our best to accommodate questions and inquiries before or after classes, but having your request in writing will ensure a correct and timely response and resolution.

You can also call us at 973-337-1311. Don’t be shy, leave a message.

Can you help me with my nutrition?

We offer a few different options for nutrtion. There are meal plans designed by nutritionists that fit  Macro plans, Gluten-Free, Paleo, Mediterranean, and Macro counting lifestyles in the nutrition section of your member app! . We understand that One Size does not fit all, and we will work with you to find the best program.

We also can refer you to a Registered Dietician who will meet with you virtually weekly or biweekly to help you work on practices that will help you create habits for life. Whether you want to lose body fat, increase muscle mass, or even work through food sensitivities. This is a next level service that will have you seeing real, long-lasting results! They accept most health insurances, and many of our members do not pay co-insurance.

What if I have bad knees (or a shoulder or elbow or back…)?

If you are cleared by your physician to begin a workout program we can help alleviate those aches and pains of everyday life. We can modify every workout to make it pain-free for you. Check out the Programs section of our Member App to sign up for the Struck Fitness at home Mobility Program. It will help you identify where you need work and assign you mobility exercises based on an initial assessment.

How can I get the Member App?

Take a look at this Video- it will explain the process.

Make sure that you pull up the correct web browser for your phone- Safari for iPhone and Chrome for Android - or it will not work.

Why do you cost more than a big box gym?

Great question. We say this a lot - we do things a little differently around here. We offer a more personalized experience and program. We keep our classes small so that you get the attention you deserve and need. Our membership is limited to a set amount of people so that you don’t get lost in the crowd. We know your name, we know your children’s names,  we call you if you are out for a couple of days.  To us, you are a real person with real expectations, a real-life and real needs. We offer you real results. We understand that this program isn’t for everyone- that some people would rather have the anonymity of a big box gym so that you can just show up there and walk on the treadmill. But we don’t think that gives you the results you probably want or need.

Do you offer Personal Training?

YES!!! We do, if you are looking to level up or maybe you just aren’t a group fitness kind of person you can make an appointment to sit with one of our certified personal trainers to see if we are a fit.

Do you have a prenatal program?

We don’t offer a separate prenatal program. However, if you have clearance from your physician we can attend our regular Bootcamp classes. We will meet with you first to review safe equipment usage and provide you with workarounds and modifications for some of our exercises. Our Head trainer Theresa Struck is certified as a Women’s Fitness Specialist and will make sure you make it to the due date safe and healthy. We’ve already worked with expectant mamas in all trimesters. We know that regular exercise and strength training during pregnancy will lead to easier labor and delivery along with a speedier recovery after birth.

We do currently offer Baby & Me Yoga for Parents & babies up to 18 months. Contact us for new sessions start dates.

Do you offer Child Care?

We don’t have a childcare program but we love it when members bring in their well-behaved (or semi-well behaved, depending on the day😁) kiddos and let them hang out in the waiting area to watch the workout. Our space is small enough so you can see them while you work out. We recommend books or maybe a tablet to entertain them so that you can get your sweat on without worrying about them being a nuisance to the rest of the class. This is a very pro-child environment. Most of our members and trainers are parents themselves.  A waiver needs to be signed at their 1st visit.

Can I cancel my Struck Fitness Membership?

All monthly memberships come with a contract for either a 6-month or 12-month agreement. We believe this is very important so that our members feel committed to their health long term. We have found that the membership commitments keep people motivated to continue to show up to classes even when life gets in the way. We also believe wholeheartedly that when we sign our contract, you are asking us to hold you accountable for your health and wellness with your workouts.

We take time to make sure you understand what you are agreeing to and send out an electronic copy of the signed contract within 30 days of signing, so please review it and keep a copy so that you understand your requirements under that agreement.

Reasons you cannot break the contract/agreement:

  • The schedule doesn't work for me anymore.
  • I just can't find the time to come.
  • I can't make my health a priority right now.
  • I don't want to exercise anymore.

Reasons you can break your contract/agreement:

  • You have a signed note from a medical professional saying you can no longer participate.
  • You are moving at least 10 miles away from our facility.

If you are going through a season of difficulty we understand and we offer you the ability to freeze your account from 2 weeks to 3 months at no charge. The time that the account is frozen is tacked on to the end of the contracted time agreement. You must let us know at least 48 hours before your bill date or the payment will most likely be processed.

Also, your account cannot be canceled from a "Frozen" status.  Accounts have to be restored and stay that way for one month before a cancelation can be processed.

After the first 12 months of membership, you are no longer bound by a contract and can cancel at any time,  at least 15 days before your billing date.

If you still want to move forward with your cancelation, just know that we will miss you terribly! If you are canceling before your initial commitment (6 or 12 months) is completed, as per the signed contract, you are responsible for half (1/2) of the remaining months.

Remember that all agreement cancellations need to be done in writing, a simple email will do at theresastruck@struckfitness.com

If I change my mind about a program or my membership can I get a refund?

All sales are final, and none of our programs, services, or memberships are eligible for a refund. However, we will do our best to honor your membership/program at a different time up to 6 months after the original purchase date.

What is your class or session cancelation policy?

Bootcamp/group classes must be canceled at least 1 hour prior to start time. On weekends (Friday evening classes through Sunday mornings) the cancelation period is 12 hours.  Failure to do so will result in a $15 fine.  We have noticed a huge reduction in class cancelation since we've implemented this policy. Which is a win-win for everyone!

Personal Training and Semi-Personal Training sessions must be canceled at least 12 hours prior to start time. Failure to do so results in the loss of the session. We will always do our best to reschedule sessions that are canceled with sufficient time (more than 12 hours,) but cannot always guarantee that a trainer or time slot will be available.

A reminder that our personal and semi-personal training are sold as monthly memberships- not as session packs. We know that this is the best way for members to stay consistent in their workouts and progress! Therefore all sessions (even make-ups) must be used within the billing period. Also when purchasing a monthly Personal or Semi-Personal monthly membership you may be working with more than one trainer.
